Ohio State 4-H Livestock Skillathon Team

The State 4-H Livestock Skillathon Team provides a learning laboratory, which will enhance knowledge of the beef, sheep and swine industries and issues facing these industries, all within a fun setting.

The skillathon team provides experiential learning opportunities that develop critical thinking and problem solving skills and tests one’s ability to apply information. Also, the team provides opportunities that develop and recognize teamwork. Moreover, the team encourages youth to expand their knowledge of the livestock industry and become proficient in livestock management practices and quality assurance.

Additionally, the team serves as an award activity and trip for youth that have achieved superior levels of performance in state competition. Therefore, the team stimulates their learning processes, interest, and enthusiasm of the livestock industries. See our Skillathon section, left.
