In early June, dairy 4-H individuals were recognized at a special awards banquet for their outstanding achievement. These individuals were selected based on written 4-H report forms that were submitted and evaluated earlier in 2008. Chosen to represent Ohio at the National 4-H Dairy Conference held in Madison, WI were Paul Gordon and Eilleen Gress. Attending this (in the fall) is an exciting opportunity to encourage career interest in the dairy industry and also to experience World Dairy Expo.
Another award recipient was Laura Gordon, an entering Freshman at Ohio State University She was presented the State 4-H Dairy Award. All hail from Wayne County and each has been active in every statewide 4-H dairy program from judging to quiz bowl, and exhibiting at the state fair.
