The following rules will apply:
Dog Poster Contest
Purpose
1. To visually demonstrate 4-H & FFA dog project knowledge.
2. To stimulate an interest in 4-H & FFA dog projects.
3. To demonstrate to others the diversity of the 4-H & FFA dog projects.
Rules
1. Any youth enrolled in a 4-H dog project may enter a poster.
2. Age divisions will be as follows: Junior (ages 8-11), Intermediate (ages 12-14), and Senior (ages 15-18). All ages are as of January 1, 2009.
3. Each poster must be made by the 4-H or FFA member.
4 Posters must be made using size 22” x 28” poster board, displayed horizontally. Poster boards are not to be mounted on any type of stiff backing. Shadow boxes, overlays, or three-dimensional posters are not permitted. Stick on letters and stickers are permitted. Posters need not be laminated or covered with a thin plastic material, however lamination will help preserve the poster.
5. Each poster must be clearly labeled in the lower right hand corner with the exhibitor’s name, county, and age as of January 1, 2009.
6. Posters will be judged on Educational Content (50 pts.), Neatness/Appearance (30 pts.), and Originality (20 pts.).
7. Posters will be displayed in the Buckeye Building during the State Fair Dog Show. All posters that place will be displayed throughout the Dog Show. Depending on the number of other posters received, a certain percentage of posters will be displayed each day.
8. Rosettes will be presented to all first through fifteenth place winners in each age division on Thursday, August 6, at approximately 12:00 noon in the Buckeye Building.
9. First place winners in each age division can exhibit every year provided the age requirements are met.
10. Each youth must complete an entry form and send or bring the completed entry form along with poster to Lucinda B. Miller, OSU South Centers, 1864 Shyville Road, Piketon, Ohio 45661.
11. Posters must be postmarked by Saturday, July 11. Posters postmarked after this deadline will not be judged, however will still be displayed.
12. Posters will be released after the awards presentation on Thursday, August 6, or after they have had their turn at being displayed. Unclaimed posters will be discarded at the end of the Dog Show on August 6.

Each youth must complete a 2009 Ohio State Fair Dog Show Poster Entry Form and send or bring the completed entry form along with poster to Lucinda B. Miller, OSU South Centers, 1864 Shyville Road, Piketon, Ohio 45661. Posters must be postmarked by Friday, July 11. 2. One admission ticket and one parking permit will be mailed to each exhibitor who receives an award for his/her poster to attend the Poster Contest Award presentation on August 6.
